Excellent value nursery fees
Our nursery fees are competitive. All of our creative activities and classes are included, we also provide healthy meals including breakfast hot lunch with pudding and tea.
Our fees also include excellent access to an impressive selection of resources and a wide variety of activities both inside and outside of the classroom. We offer a comprehensive programme of settling-in sessions to ensure that your child gets the best possible start to nursery. Kozy Cottage does not charge for Bank Holidays when the nursery is closed.
We also offer 15 hours funded childcare, 30 hours funding (for eligible children) and you can also pay using Tax-Free Childcare to get up to 40% off your fees paid for you by the Government. Finally, we accept all of the main employer-assisted childcare vouchers.
Share your child’s day
We know that being able to be involved with your child’s care whist at nursery provides peace of mind. With this in mind, our parents get free access to our app, which allows you to be engaged with what is happening. For example, you will be able to see what your child has been eating, how much they ate and exactly how long they had a nap for.
You will also be able to see photos, videos and access written reports, assessments and observations on your child. You can comment too and also message your child’s carers or a member of management. Our parents love it and it’s also a great way for relatives, such as grandparents to also see how your child is enjoying their time at kozy cottage.
Of course we value face-to-face communication too and our staff are always available at the end of your child’s session to provide valuable feedback. We also hold regular parents’ evenings and other events where you can meet our team and other parents.
Inclusive Practice
All children regardless of their background and or if they have a Special Educational Need or Disability are welcome at Kozy Cottage Childcare Nursery. We have a dedicated SENCo who will work alongside your child's key person to ensure that your child is included within the nursery activities and that they get the most out of their time with us. Be assured that we will work with you to support both you, your family and your child to put in place any requirements needed. Sometimes we might involve other professionals to support your child such as speech and language therapists if we agree together this would help your child. Please speak to our SENCo for information about our policies and procedures in relation to SEND.

How will I know how well my child is doing?

Meetings with key person
We will hold regular meetings with you to discuss the progress your child is making and how you can support them at home.
We will give you daily feedback too.

Learning Journal
This is a record of your child's learning and development throughout their time in nursery.
We expect that you will add information to your child's learning journal.

Northumberland School Readiness Passport
The Northumberland School Readiness Passport is a tool we use to capture key information about your child along their school readiness journey. This includes information about the things you have done with them at home as well as our assessments as to how well your child is doing and if they are on track to be school ready. It will also be used at points of transition to share information about your child when they move to a new setting or school. transition document for Early Years education settings. It will be used to gather information about key events in a child's early life ,which can follow them as they grow and move on to new settings.

Two year progress check
This is an assessment we will complete together with you when your child turns two to check how well they are doing for their age in relation to the Prime areas of learning. Sometimes we might share this information with your Health Visitor.
